About me

Software engineering that makes AI useful.

I’m Guillermo Ayala, a software engineer with more than 30 years of experience. Over the past four years, I’ve shifted my focus from full-stack development and systems design toward AI consulting and application development.

That foundation shapes how I work: understand the business problem, make the technical choices clear, and build a solution people can use.

My perspective

An application has to fit the way people work.

My experience spans software systems design and full-stack application development: from the information an application needs to the interface a person uses. Today, I bring that perspective to AI assessments, knowledge assistants, automation and integrations.

A model is one part of a larger solution. The people using it, the sources it relies on, the systems it connects to and the way results are reviewed all matter. Those questions guide my decisions from the beginning.

I work in English and Spanish with companies in Mexico and internationally. I focus on concrete problems at small and midsize businesses, where a tool needs to be understandable, manageable and proportionate to the task.

Working principles

Build clarity before expanding the scope.

  1. Understand the task

I start with how the work happens today, its constraints and what a useful improvement would look like.

  2. Make decisions visible

I explain alternatives, dependencies and cost assumptions so the next test has a clear purpose.

  3. Test realistic examples

I define evaluation criteria and difficult cases alongside the expected behavior.

  4. Prepare for operation

I consider responsibilities, documentation, updates and human review within the agreed scope.

Professional development

Training that connects technical capabilities with business decisions.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering, with its degree record authenticated in SIGED, the education information system of Mexico’s Secretariat of Public Education (SEP). I have also completed the following IBM programs, which complement my software engineering background and my transition toward AI.
